Analysis:

The Makar Sankrant is the ingress of Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn. This is supposed to be start of Uttarayan when Sun will take its course from Capricorn to Gemini. Out of the four Ingress (Sankrant) charts, the Makar Sankrant is very important to India in many respects due to the following reasons.

1. The financial budget and Railway budgets are presented between Makar Sankrant to Aries Ingress.
2. During the period between the Makar Sankrant to Aries ingress, we analyse the chart of Chaitra Shukla pratipada.
3. During this period, especially applicable to the year 2020 is the conjunction of natural malefic Mars to the previous Solar eclipse point of December 26, 2019. The conjunction of Mars will take place around February 21, 2020.
4. Similarly, Rahu/Ketu will also come in conjunction with the previous Solar eclipse point around March 19, 2020.
5. Similarly, especially for 2020, the planet Saturn will transit from Sagittarius to Capricorn on January 24, 2020.
6. The effect of the Makar Sankrant chart will be there till the beginning of Aries ingress chart of April, 2020.

The following is the Makar Sankrant Chart of 2020.

The Asc rising is Libra, which corresponds to the 6th house of the India Independence chart. The lord of Libra Venus is in the 5th house of the Ingress chart which corresponds to the 10th house of India chart. Venus is heavily afflicted by the aspect of 3 malefics namely, Saturn, Mars and Rahu. Venus is also aspected by Moon which is the Guliladpati of D1, D9 and D12 charts. Additionally, Moon is also in the Mrityu Bhaga. Venus is also the Asc lord of the India chart. This shows that the Government will face more hurdles in handling its Governance matters. There will be several changes in the key portfolios of Government. There will be more protests seen on streets across India. The people in general will be unsatisfied. The Stock markets will see a massive correction. There will be some changes in the Education policy which will be objected to by the people. Some senior Leaders of the ruling party may face health issues and may expire. The Opposition will grow stronger and the Government will face backlash. BJP will not be able to come to power in upcoming State Elections till April, 2020.

The 9th house of the Ingress chart has Rahu, which is the Marana Karaka Sthana. Hence, the issue of CAA/NRC/NPR will only take a ugly turn. One will see rise in communalism, religious extremism, some road block in construction of Ram Mandir, etc.

The previous Solar eclipse point in Sagittarius will be activated by Mars and Rahu around Feb 21, 2020 and Mar 19, 2020, respectively. The Sagittarius sign happens to be the 3rd house of Ingress chart and 8th house of India chart. So, with this configurations, we can expect the relationship with our bordering countries like Pakistan and China getting worse. There will be accidents in the communications sectors like railways, raod, air, etc.

The 2nd house has Mars which is in Mrityu Bhaga. The 11th house has Moon, which is also in MB. So, the financial indices like GDP, Inflation, etc will not improve and will see a decline further.

The planet Saturn will transit from Sagittarius to Capricorn on Jan 24, 2020. In India Independence chart the Capricorn sign has just 20 points in SAV and Saturn has only 1 point in BAV. Saturn in Capricorn will go in Nigala dreshkan which is highly malefic. So, the transit of Saturn will not help the Government.
