Analysis:
Virat Kohli had quit Test captaincy recently. There are many reasons behind his decision. It was a Twitter message on September 16 in which he informed his followers about his decision to quit T20 captaincy, and his decision to focus all his energies on Test cricket and ODI format keeping the 2023 World Cup in mind. The 33-year-old has now joined the list of former India captains, having announced his decision of stepping down for the second time, this time from the traditional format. There was a time when Kohli was in absolute power in Indian cricket. It was that period when BCCI was run by Supreme Court-constituted administrators and the duo of Kohli and then then chief coach Ravi Shastri controlled the Indian cricket setup. Kohli’s form with the bat also backed his decisions. But times have changed and now with Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah at the helm, the star batter has certainly lost that complete ‘power’. The revolt against had Kohli started within the team last year. As per media sources, several senior players in the dressing room were miffed at his attitude. A senior player had complained to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah against Kohli for making him feel ‘insecure’. Although Virat Kohli did not officially come out and state anything about the alleged tussle between him and the board, media reports emerged claiming authentic BCCI sources are not in favor of Virat continuing to lead the side. There was a complete breakdown of communication between the board and the Indian captain. Virat knew that he would have been removed from white ball captaincy, if the team doesn’t do well at the UAE World T20, he was gone for good as far as white-ball leadership is concerned. This was the news from an BCCI insider as reported by PTI. Kohli allegedly went to the selection committee with a proposal that Rohit Sharma be removed from the ODI vice-captaincy as he is 34. He wanted the ODI vice-captaincy to be handed over to K L Rahul with Rishabh Pant performing the role in the T20 format. This didn’t go down well with the Board which believes that Kohli doesn’t want an actual successor. It is alleged that the BCCI was deeply concerned about Virat Kohli’s captaincy, especially in the ICC tournaments because of his failure as a captain in the ICC events. In a meeting held by the BCCI office-bearers in July after the WTC Final, it emerged that a lot of BCCI officials are unsatisfied with Virat’s captaincy.
Now, let us look at the reasons behind his quitting and what is the road ahead for him. Virat Kohli was born on November 5, 1988 at 10.28 am at Delhi.
The Asc rising is Sagittarius 8.44 degrees. The Asc degree is in the star of Moola ruled by Ketu. The dasa is of Rahu/Venus from September 2021 to September 2024. The dasa lord Rahu is in the 3rd house whose dispositor Saturn is in Asc, which is Daghda rashi. Since, his birth is on krishna ekadasi day, Sagittarius and Pisces will be daghda rashi. All the planets in these rasis does not give favorable results. The antara lord Venus is in the 10th house in Virgo at 13.50 degrees in the hastha nakshatra ruled by Moon. It is also along with Moon which is at 00.19 degrees in uttaraphalguni nakshatra ruled by Sun. This nakshatra is his “Avayogi” nakshatra. Also, Moon has its lordship over the 8th lord which signifies conspiracy, complacency, disputes, etc. Venus has its lordship over the 6th and 11th houses. The 6th house is also house of disputes and enimity. So, looking at the dasa it was bound to happen for him. Venus is aspected by Saturn and Mars, both of which are in daghda rasi. Also, retrograde Jupiter from 6th house also aspects Venus.
Now what is in store for him. Since, he is going through the antara of Venus till September 2024, he will face more humuliations and more news will come about some conspiracy behind his resignation. As far as his future goes, he will not be active in the Indian cricket and it is as good as semi-retirement in his carreer.
